We're selling Umi Organic's Yakisoba Kits and we're so excited! Umi Organic's yakisoba has the Perfect tooth and texture. Each kit will come with yakisoba noodles to feed four people, Umi's brand new yakisoba sauce, Doro Sauce from Kobe, a bottle of sesame oil (because I can't eat yakisoba that's not sauteed in sesame oil, lol), some benishoga ginger pickles, bonito flakes, and aonori seaweed for garnish. All you need to add are the veggies and/or meat and dinner is ready for the family! (Please don't forget the cabbage though... it's my favorite part!)
Here's some info from Umi Organic:
'We are excited to join the second annual Kobe + Portland Yakisoba Project. This transpacific collaboration brings food artisans from Kobe and Portland together to showcase the magic of yakisoba! This year we are telling the history of yakisoba sauce, which was invented in Kobe, to Portlanders through cook-at-home kits with a recipe.
Experience and support this unusual alliance by buying a kit from now through February 28 (or until they are sold out)! Kits include:
-
Umi Organic whole grain yakisoba noodles made in Portland, Oregon. These noodles include Oregon-grown durum and Edison flours from Camas Country Mill. They were the center of the Portland Public Schools’ lunch that won Best School Lunch in the nation!
-
Umi Organic’s *BRAND NEW* yakisoba sauce which features organic tamari and Worcestershire and tamarind
-
Oliver Doro Sauce, a deliciously intense condiment from one of Kobe’s oldest sauce companies made through a traditional process where nothing is wasted
-
A packet of bonito flakes - important garnish!
-
A special zine that tells the history of yakisoba, explains the origins of Doro sauce, and includes a wonderfully adaptable recipe for yakisoba using the included ingredients
- And these bonus ingredients exclusive in Fulamingo's kits:
- Kadoya Sesame Oil, for pan-frying the noodles (and whatever veggies and meat you choose to cook with them.)
- Beni-shoga pickled ginger, for garnish.
- Aonori seaweed, for garnish.
