Spring water from Mt. Fuji sourced from Narusawa Village in Yamanashi, Japan. This comes from an underground well comprised of snow-melt that filters through 1000 feet of volcanic rock via the slopes of Mt Fuji. Since it's naturally filtered through volcanic rock, it's rich in minerals and is naturally alkaline (8.6+ pH). We have both their STILL and SPARKLING waters.
One cannot overstate the importance of water in Japan. This makes sense since Japan is a volcanic island so all the snow melts and filters through volcanic rock and much of it sits in huge underground wells, which means water has been abundant throughout Japanese civilization. And in fact, a large component of what makes Japanese water so clean is the fact that much care is given to managing and tending to large areas of forest. Water plays a huge role in Japanese religion, agriculture, art, culture, and of course, water is the cornerstone of Japanese cuisine.
It is uncommon to find bottled water in Japan since the tap water system is so good, even in cities like Tokyo. So it's such a treat for us, who live outside of the US, to gain access to Japanese spring water!
