Privacy
Fulamingo's intention as proprietors is that we don't do anything with data which you provide when you make a purchase with us besides use it to help fulfill your orders and give you better customer service. That being said, our site runs on Shopify and a handful of 3rd party apps, which we have less control over than we'd like.
We are still new on our own privacy journey, but we ultimately want to improve how we operate so that you can be comfortably private as our customers.
We ask for your phone number and email so we can call/text/email you if there's an issue with your order. Our Shopify settings are configured so that we retain the data you enter with your order for 90 days, before it gets automatically deleted. The exception to this is if you sign up for promotional emails.
Frankly, if you are concerned about your privacy, (and we think you should be) we don't mind if you use a VPN, an alias name*, a Privacy.com payment card, a VOIP phone number, and an anonymous email address. If you are local to Portland, and choose to pick up your order from one of our Pickup Locations, then we don't need your home address. If you are having your order shipped, then you can certainly have it shipped to a private mail box or P.O. box, if you use one. As long as we can call/text/email you if there's an issue with your order, we are good. (*Unfortunately, we can't sell you alcohol if you use an alias. We need your name on your order to match what's on your government issued ID.) It's unfortunate that one might need all those measures to be a private person on the internet, but we are also going to work on our end so that those measures may eventually be irrelevant.
We do use Shopify to host our store, and a small number of 3rd party apps which facilitate our store to run the way we need it to. How they all handle your data is another issue, hence the legal jargon below.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at info (at) fulamingo.com and we would be eager to address them.
