These sake glasses by Hirota Glass are hand-blown and impeccably designed. Hirota's design approach was to create the "ultimate sake glass", one that fits perfectly in your hand and matches the curve of your lip. In Japan, the serving vessel plays just as important a role as its contents, and this embodies that concept in the most luxurious way.
Tsubomi: 'The flower bud' mimics the closed shape of a flower bud and helps trap the aroma of the sake inside the glass. This shape is best-suited to junmai sake.
Hana: The fluted shape, with its gently flared aperture, is designed to accentuate and deepen the aromas of sake. The thin rim feels magnificent to drink from and luxuriates each sip. The Hana model is particularly well suited to more highly polished, aromatic sake such as Ginjo and Daiginjo grades. (Really though, every sake we've tried in our Hana glass, regardless of style, showed wonderfully. We love this glass.)
Hirota Glass has been producing hand-crafted glassware since 1899 and is a pioneer in Japanese glassmaking. They continue to focus on traditional crafting techniques that are unique to Japanese glassmaking.
Hana holds 100ml.
