One of my favorite condiments for ramen, and if I'm making instant ramen at home, I rarely skip the menma for a topping. Menma is bamboo shoots that have been dried and lactofermented. It's basically sun-dried, salt pickled bamboo shoots. These ones are flavored with soy sauce and sesame oil. Besides using it as a topping on ramen, you can use it as a topping for rice, use it in stirfrys, or make rice cooked with bamboo shoots and chicken (takikomi gohan).
3.52 oz *This is a very small bottle. I get between 4-6 servings when I use it as a ramen topping. If you want to use a ton of menma, I'd suggest making it yourself!
Vegan. Contains soybeans, wheat.
*Please refrigerate after opening.
(Sidebar: you all put toppings on your instant ramen, right? Easy go-tos include soft boiled egg, spinach wilted in shiro dashi, green onions, sesame seeds, chili oil, obvs menma and chasyu)
