Mirin is a Japanese cooking must-have. I call it one of the "Holy Trinity of Japanese cooking", along with cooking sake and soy sauce. Mirin is a sweet sake but it is meant for cooking, not drinking.
Mirin goes into sauces, marinades, soups, glazes, desserts, and so much more. If you were looking at pantry essentials to be able to cook Japanese food at home, start with mirin. (Along with soy sauce and cooking sake.) At home, we go through a lot of it, using it in all sorts of Japanese recipes.
This Takara mirin is an unsalted type (as opposed to "aji-mirin" which you'll commonly see, which is salted).
700 mL
Vegan, gluten-free, soy-free.
